Platform 9

Platform 9

A Poem by Stefon Napier

The tracks go on and on

Yet You've said nothing

Here at this little train station

Waiting like dreams do during the day

What are you waiting for?

Can't you trust your feet to guide you?

Even if you can't walk a line in the dark

They can still take you anywhere.

Some where behind me, a light cries out

while the air begans to shuffle, bumping us.

And then the platform we're on shudders violently

like the time you lost your resolve to buckled knees

Remember what it was like to live

I really like this a lot. The last stanza is very strong. If I might suggest, I think you do not need the words "we're on" after platform since it is already implied. The line will have more impact.

I also really like the title.

Great poem.
