The one who instinctively knows when you are about to cry

before you even shed a tear, or before you ask yourself why

The one who hugs you and desensitises your anxiety and overwhelming fear

The one that is there for you, without you ever asking for them to be there

The one who watches over you and protects you, from yourself  

The one who is part of you, without you ever asking them to be

The one who makes you laugh and smile when you’re feeling lost and alone

The one who shares all your thoughts and memories

Without you ever having to share them   

The one that is true to you and unconditionally cares

The one that is there for you, without you ever asking, for them to be there

The one that pulls you out of yourself when you are feeling down and blue

The one that stays true to you

Without you ever asking them too

The one that allows you to be yourself

And loves you for all your quirks and eccentricities

The one that just chooses to love you, for you  

Without any conditional rules or hidden strategies

The one who loves to hear you laugh, but not to see you cry

The one who loves to make you smile

And doesn’t reason why

 

The one that chooses to be with you

Because they just want to be

The one who evokes an emotional reaction from you,

Unexpectedly

The one that will be with you,

you hope for the rest of your life, for all eternity
