Those Unforgettable Eyes

Those Unforgettable Eyes

A Poem by snakesy_monkey

She looked through the window and she saw me.  The sadness in her eyes reminiscent of mine.

A sudden understanding and empathy, realising that she wasn't the person that she used to be.

I saw the guilt, the heartfelt pain engraved across that unforgettable face, which I haven't wanted to remember, relive or retrace.

I saw her vulnerability, loneliness and felt it to, I wanted to reach out and pull her out, breakthrough.

I wanted to offer her happiness, give strength, comfort, warmth and sympathy, but instead I stayed muted.
