A Memory I'd Rather Forget...............A Story by snakesy_monkey
The key slowly turned in the lock. A girl with long, wavy, chestnut hair sat huddled in the corner, her body trembling and shaking uncontrollably. Her arms tightly clasped around her body attempting to shield herself from her internal pain and discomfort, droplets of perspiration started to trickle down her face, and her hands began to feel icy cold and clammy, a chill filled the air. Her innocent eyes staring at the door, this was broken by a banging and creaking sound as the oak wooden front door was violently flung open. This was followed by deep, trodden footsteps which seemed to be edging their way closer and closer towards her hiding place. A pungent smell of masculine aftershave filled the air.
The footsteps became louder and louder until they eventually stopped. The door handle started to move slowly, this was followed by a click and a creak and then light started to filter into the room, part of a black shoe and then a knee became visible through the crack of the door, as it was slowly opened.
The girl sat rigid, too terrified to move only able to move her eyes as she blinked away her tears of fear. Her thoughts and silence was suddenly broken as a bellowing voice entered the room. She felt nauseous.
He looked down at her, his menacing, unfeeling eyes seeping through her body, she looked up at him longingly. Please don't hurt me she repeatedly said to herself, please don't do those things again. His dominant words echoed through the room demanding explanations followed by heart rendering accusations.
She began to chew and pick at her nails frantically trying to free some of her nervousness and anticipation, shuffling her bottom slowly against the floor. She stuttered and mumbled as she tried to find justifiable words which would not enrage or infuse him. Veins began to erupt on his forehead and his cheeks started to quickly turn from a pale pink to a vivid blood red. His pupils started to dilate and his jaundice coloured teeth became tightly clenched that even a monkey wrench could not free them. Condensation began to fill the air.
He touched her with his heavy set hands and tried to pull her to her feet. She felt like resisting, but she was too terrified. She felt sickened and awkward by his touch and her heart felt like it was pounding through it's own chest cavity, eventually he let go of her and turned his back away from her and walked away. She looked down at the floor, willing the door to close tightly behind him. When it did, she took a long exasperated breath and knelt down and pushed her back firmly against the door to prevent him from coming back in.
She sat there for a while, contemplating what had happened, and analysing his behaviour, she could not find any reasonable or valid reasons that could justify why he treated her like this.
