Could Of Been

Could Of Been

A Poem by Trouble Smurff

The two of us standing there,

Our bodies so close yet so far away.

As we gaze at each other,

Not a word is spoken.

Looking into those beautiful eyes I am spellbound.

Tracing the outline of your lips and smile.

Remembering the vibrantness of your voice.

My heart is beating like a drum.

An extreme warmness running throughout my body.

We are at a loss of words.

Wondering in our minds who would make the first move.

Trying to figure out where this passing would take us.

To the point where there is no return.

So lost in the moment.

Walking across a tightrope.

Amid all that is and all that might be.

A keen knowledge that there is no net there to catch us if we fall.

Keeping our balance and falling down.

Are adventures of passion and romance.

Our time becomes interrupted.

Why must I leave?

Your back against me, towards the door I go.

So hard to say goodbye.

You watch tv and won't say a word to me.

I wonder how two lovers can turn there heads or walk away.

Leaving behind the most evident connections and love.

Yet, live there life the next day, as if nothing had happened or changed.
