Three little words

Somehow I think the meaning has been lost in translation. This phrase is tossed around more than dirty dish Rags these days.

How do you know when you love someone
How can you tell it's for real?
It's not something that fades with the palest moonlight
It's something you just have to feel

These three little words are tossed around
So often the objective is lost.
It comes to a point where they don't mean a thing
Sometimes a high price is the cost.

To say these three words without action in tow
The word pointless to me comes to mind.
You must be prepared to back up these words
With a heart so giving and kind.

If you love someone, tell them, then back up your words
With actions direct from the heart.
Give them your time, attention and soul
Until time ends or the one day you part.
