Bullying...It Has To End!!

Does it make you feel big when you push them around,

Do you know how it feels to be knocked to the ground?

I'm thinking you do, you've been there before

The verbal abuse, your face to the floor.

Remember the pain, the fear in your heart,

If you did you would stop, how it tore you apart.

As I'm watching this happen, it hurts me so deep

To know you're an angel as you lay sound asleep.

At work or at school, what you're doing's not right

People look to you for answers, you give them a fight.

We were all put here with a job to be done

Each individual, be it daughter or son.

To get through this life the best that we can

To help one another, woman or man.

Unfortunately it's rare, you don't see it these days

To beat someone up....that's the new kind of craze.

There has to be something that will open your eyes

Will it be your friend's death, maybe your own demise.

We all need each other to love and respect

Not to be treated like a common insect.

Would you want someone treating your loved ones this way?

Watching them be abused each and every day.

There's enough hurt in this world it doesn't need help from you

So take a step back and ask, "what can I do?"

The anger and fighting must come to an end

Think of yourself, think of your friends.

You don't have to like everyone that you meet

Just know being nice isn't admitting defeat.

So put on a smile, it's okay to be nice

To continue to bully........

Rest assured there's a price.

If these words can either stop someone from harming another, or give strength to those being bullied...my work here is worth it..

I agree with your words. No need to abuse another person. We must teach defense also. Tell the naysayers. Their comments are meaningless. Sometime short and logical comments than walking away from the bully is all we can do. Thank you for the needed poem.

I've been on every end of bullying there is and I like to think I'm mature enough now to have nothing to do with it. I felt embarrassed for that football player who's been in the press lately for bullying his team mate and I couldn't care less about sports. Hopefully when his career is over and the steroids are out of his system he'll feel sufficiently humiliated to realize what a jack a*s his behavior made him look like.
