Missing You

I'm lying here awake

You're on my mind tonight

I wish you were beside me

You made everything alright.

The clock, it is relentless

The time is drawing near

I don't know when I'll see you next

Why can't you just be here?

You left one day without a word

You said it's for the best

You left me feeling all alone

And now I get no rest.

They tell me one day I'll look back

I'll laugh and smile once more

But as for now, there's so much pain

It burns me to the core.

I have to remember who I am

And the strength I have inside

I'll wear that smile upon my face

Though a part of me has died.

You'll think I'm happy, yes you will

I'll convince them all, you'll see

I'll tell you that I couldn't be happier

After all, it's you that lost me.

Until that day, I'll live my life

And keep wishing on that star

That as you're crawling back to me

You get run over by a car.
