The Talking CigaretteA Poem by smurfett
I'm just a friendly cigarette, don't be afraid of me
Why all the advertisers say I'm harmless as can be They tell you that I'm your best friend, I like that cunning lie And say you'll walk a mile for me because I satisfy. Oh come on young man, be a sport, why longer hesitate? With me between your manly lips you'll be quite up-to-date. Your color you begin to lose, the very day we met When I convinced you it was smart to smoke a cigarette. You've got a cough, you get it checked, The doctor says cancer. He says you can't expect to live, thanks to me much longer. Now that I have done my part, and I have done it well I'll leave you with my partner death, He'll come for you --farewell. © 2013 smurfettAuthor's Note
