Unknown Love

For S.V. with all my love

Today I didn't want to get up

Snooze was my best friend

But once I arose, and headed to work

I was ready for it to end.

The day dragged on as it sometimes does

My thoughts I couldn't keep straight

Do this, do that, answer the phones

For five o'clock I just can't wait.

The work day ended, I drove home with a smile

Awaiting a much needed weekend

But once again, my thoughts they roamed

For on my mind was a very special friend.

This man I have never met before

But we talk all the time on the phone

He makes me feel so loved and alive

I know in spirit I'm never alone.

The day's fast approaching we'll meet face to face

I hope it all goes as planned

The love that we've shared up to this point

Should be bestowed on every man.

So, another day down, with just a few more to go

I'll hold him close in my heart

Waiting for the day that we can be together

And with God's love never we part.
