Dysfunction

Dysfunction

A Poem by Skylar Stone
"

I wrote this poem when I needed to get the words out, but I had no one to trust them with.

"

There is dysfunction here.

There is dysfunction in the box of pieces going to a rainbow.

There is dysfunction in the black box that holds laughter and joyful noise.

I've locked it away, and there it will stay.

There is dysfunction here.

There is confusion here.

There is confusion in the small stone cottage for us.

There is confusion in the one-story cottage that belongs to theatrics and fuss.

I've smashed it all down, flat into the ground.

There is confusion here.

There is betrayal here.

There is betrayal in the heart of the different.

There is betrayal in her body, heart, and mindset.

I've stopped her escape, screams muffled with tape.

There is betrayal here.

Misunderstanding's here.

Misunderstanding's in the hope of the young.

Misunderstanding's in the hope of the bystanders of tragedy.

I've doused it in might, it soon shall ignite.

Misunderstanding's here.

There's sobs heard in the air.

There's sobs heard in the stained pillowcase.

There's sobs heard in the stained state of mind of us all.

I've taken control, hate is on a roll.

There's sobs heard in the air.

Among, a listening ear.

Among, a listening ear finds empty words.

Among, a listening ear finds an empty puzzle box.

I've dashed her belief, without a new leaf.

Among, a listening ear.

There's words that aren't concealed.

There's words in the musty air.

There's words in the musty air that is breathed by many.

I've collected each sound, now a story is bound.

There's words that aren't concealed.

There is awareness here.

There is awareness in the mind of a passerby.

There is awareness in the mind that illustrates it's own conclusions.

I've not said a word, keeping trust is absurd.

There is awareness here.

There is dysfunction here.

There is dysfunction in the picture-perfect family.

There is dysfunction in the family that was destroyed by love.

I've written it down, you shall know it now.

I've scrounged for a peep, I've yelled in my sleep.

I've understood more than I should.

I've learned to listen the way no one should.

And now, I know.

There is dysfunction here.
