whom with a view?

whom with a view?

A Poem by Joe Butler

I wish I felt numb… at least numb is a feeling,
But what I feel most days I can't be repeating,
The disorder… the compulsive lack or order,
And what I wouldn’t give for some sort of border,
Between me and this sense of disparity,
give me a chance and I'll shred your sanity.

I feel like I’m caned... don’t feel like I’m able,
And for a long time now I haven’t been stable,
I’m lost... in every sense of the word,
And if there is a god then my prayers are not heard,
I can’t fight it... and certainly I can’t join it,
But there's a part of my heart that exists with no joy in it.

The disturbance... this whole feel of resurgence,
When people can’t age without help from their surgeons,
The problem... is not people but steeples, the sheep pulls everybody,
But these fools,

The flock of the masses,
Who can’t see their own asses,
The Xfactor that springs disasters,
Eating off the scraps of their masters,

We can’t be without connection,
can’t see without affection,
cannot live without direction,
I can talk about me but the future needs protecting.
