the brilliance

the brilliance

A Poem by sonyaroo

you’re sitting beneath a little cloud

and I’m here, on the other side of the room

waiting for a miracle:

for you to look at me.

it’s like this all the time.

me, here beneath the maple tree

there was once a tire swing here

now it’s simply made of wood

and I remember all the times

our fingers almost touched

our hearts almost raced

our years have been almosts,

not quite real

I remember all the times

you pushed her in the hammock

but I never got on

because I was scared of you

scared of love itself

I remember how, at one time,

the trampoline was black

shining and perfect

watching you rise and fall

like the air in the lungs of the world

filled in and out

childhood things, I remember

close to your heart like rings

and every smile you flashed me

wasn’t really to me

but I pretended

that you really loved me that much

I like how descriptive this piece is, it shows how true to you your words are. Profound write, nicely worded.
