Where's the HUMAN in Humanity?A Poem by Kayla Smith
Something has been lost.
Over generations, it has disappeared into hatefulness of society. There are the selected few who still practice the forgotten art. You see these camouflaged heroes in broad daylight: Opening doors for the elderly, Returning a dropped item to a struggling mom in the Walmart parking lot, Complimenting a person on their new hairstyle. The art of humanity isn't that hard to master. You just act like a human. Every human is flawed. No human is perfect. But every human has decency. Every human knows how they would want another human to treat them. Isn't that why there is the word human in humanity. But the human part is lost. Now it's replaced with the demon, society.
