It is most certainly a difficult task to do vinyl liner leak detection in your swimming pool. Most of the surface area of the pool remains underwater and it makes it very difficult to inspect the area thoroughly. If you have diagnosed the liner to trace the leak, then finding the leak can be successfully executed by checking the most common leak vinyl liner location. It is by far the most efficient way to do so.

Before you even start looking for the leak and spend your time on it, it is better to consider thinking what could have possibly made this leak happen in the first place. This will help you to focus on a particular area of the liner because you know the cause of the leak. To begin with, check the ladder of the pool; make sure the rubber bumpers are intact there protecting the stainless steel tubes at the bottom thus preventing the liners to be cut off. This is one of the most common spots for vinyl liner leaks to happen because the bumpers warp and deteriorate with time and it is more likely that it will fall off after a period of time.

Secondly, look for major signs of damage which will be easily visible. Physical damages can be a potential reason to cause vinyl liner leak. Skimmer nets, Vacuum heads, poles, pool toys and automatic vacuum cleaners are things that go into your swimming pool and can be a reason to cause any physical damage inside. Also make sure it doesn’t have any hose clamp or sharp burrs as it can cause leak when you are pulling it out of your custom pool in Charleston.

Once you check on the above mentioned spots for leaks, you are most likely to find the leak and then you can repair it yourself or hire a professional to do it all himself. If in case, the leak is still not detected, you can check on the skimmer gaskets, light gaskets, stair gaskets and the return gaskets and you will find the spot. You will need to inspect the screws to find out if the leak is caused by a slipped screw. Sometimes leaks aren’t directly on the liner surface but these little screws that doesn’t tighten up properly and cause major vinyl liner leaks. These are the many steps to detect a vinyl liner leak and you will definitely find the spot in one of these steps.
