Just a poem

SMELL OF LOVE

                 IT IS SOMEWHERE HERE

 

I narrow my attention

Focus on my olfaction

I fail to grasp..

That colorless odorless gas

Still, I knew it is somewhere here..

..

Everyday I smear myself with

Perfumes made from the smiles

Of fresh flowers in my vase..

Jasmine, Rose and lily..

To ward off unnecessary odors.

Still, my nose failed to detect the smell…

 

I quit my search.

Perhaps it may not be there

It is only some caprice of my mind..

If love is somewhere around,

It will waft its redolence all around

Spontaneously …

 

One day

He looked into my eyes.

For some time..

Longer for a rose petal to open

Suddenly I sensed it..

Wow…it struck my nose!!!

 

As if..

Some bottle of perfume slipped

And broken into pieces..

Unleashing the whole fragrance..

So pungently, relentlessly..

It flooded my olfaction mercilessly

In torrents not known to me before

That I dazed in pleasure and ecstasy..

And succumbed to the awareness

That I am in love with him

 

Now the only smell I breathe in

Is nothing but smell of love

For him.

Even the oxygen gives way to it.
