ONLY IF I COULD

ONLY IF I COULD

A Poem by JENY
"

Its about my pet...

"

ONLY IF I COULD..

She prowls

She purrs

She mourns

She never sings

Her movements are majestic

Her gaze deep and sharp

Her sleep shallow and fugacious

Her hunger blind and never kind

My feet is her favorite place

Where she cuddles when she needs love

My pillow is her haven

Which she grabs in rainy Sundays

She knows not what jealousy is

She knows not what hate is

She knows not what vengeance is...

She knows not who God is

When we pray, she sleeps

When we hurry, leisurely she stalks

When we panic, herself she stretches

When we cogitate, with her shadow she plays

Looking at her I heave a sigh..

Only if I could be calm and content

Like my pet, my p***y cat Dolly.!!!

Who kept her divinity intact

With a God like resolution..

After eons of evolution..

To be her self

Whatever be the attitude of civilizations

Towards her species..!!!!

I'm totally bias since I am one of a few people my cats own. ;) It really seems that they have it all figured out and maybe we should take a few lessons from them. Very nicely written!!

Cats are so regal and aloof...so selective in their love...the live life on their terms...
we could learn a thing or two form them, I believe...
Nice piece....
Purrrrr

Cute :)
Animals are great!
I often wonder why we can't be so at ease like they are!

Haha. This was fabulous (insert "drag" voice). To tell you the truth, at first, I thought this was going to be one of those horrific tales of animals that always talk about the same thing. You know what I mean? I know the description is vague but I want to get to your poem! This poem made me lol, literally! I love teh line "Her hunger blind but never kind," it just reminded me of my dogs. They always bark at everything I hold in my hand even if its cat food, or some equally disgusting thing (to a dog). I also liked your use of juxtaposition, the comparison of words in a same sentence to show a contrast. It realy made this poem "POP!"
Well, thanks for letting me read this, it was an awesome experience!

That's it all right, you have painted the picture well of the typical attitude and behavior of the cat; been there, as I know they are so self-controlled and and they know it too! Good lines, good write.

This was sweet :)
I would think about playing with your phrasing a bit, to make the structure a bit more interesting, but otherwise, really nice job. :)
