AN ATTEMPT IN VAINA Poem by JENYa poem...AN ATTEMPT IN VAIN Keep quite Do not open your mouth Before you are taught How to make voice.. Close tight Do not open your eyes Before you are taught How to look at things Suppress your might Do not raise your hands Before you are taught How to wield it As a goat on the butcher’s
table I lay, with my eyes opened Waiting for a strike from the
cleaver Upon a naked me, untamed me, Uncivilized me… Thus they killed my self With a weapon called “learning” That my tutor and priest
fired From their artilleries of
knowledge In the end I am declared as a
success “Intelligent and wise” they
said.. But I madly groped in
darkness For the lost me in pain… The whole life is an attempt
in vain A good salary … A luxury apartment.. A life of affluence… A feeling of security… Rooted in dire
insecurity..!!! Who will soothe me… This nagging pain Of being incomplete Amidst this complete luxury is suicidal Answer me…my dear
teachers…!!! © 2010 JENYAuthor's Note
