Wrote this poem for a contest that asked to write about most favorite things of my life.

SOLITUDE COME AND TALK TO ME

 

Chocolate is my favorite

But solitude is sweeter than it

It is in solitude

Sweet memories toddle towards me

 

Vine is my favorite drink

But solitude is more delicious

It is in solitude

Those intoxicating memories flood my veins

 

Cycling is my favorite hobby

But solitude is more exhilarating

It is in the solitude, I see

Futile, trivial cycles of life lay scattered around me

 

Sweet heart is my favorite chum

But solitude is chummier than it

It is in solitude

I hear my heart throbbing for my sweet heart

 

Teaching is my favorite duty

But solitude is more informative

It is in solitude

I become aware that I too am a student

 

Solitude is my favorite dish

Solitude is my favorite drink

Solitude is my favorite company

Solitude is my favorite book

Without having it, tasting it

I cant live in this world

 

Oh solitude, you are a foreigner

To this noisy world

For them you are a mad cap

Who should be chased and expatriated

 

A world wedded to din

And making love with pandemonium

Will never love you…

 

So visit me stealthily

Before they detect you and profile you.

Give me lessons from your inexhaustible

Expository of wisdom, my dear solitude…!!!!

I never knew "solitude" could be some desirable.

I must say I loved the stanza

"Sweet heart is my favorite chum
But solitude is chummier than it
It is in solitude
I hear my heart throbbing for my sweet heart"

and

"Oh solitude, you are a foreigner
To this noisy world

Who should be chased and expatriated"

No complex words, that's what I love most about this poem. You managed to explain within few words the liking towards loneliness and the reasons why. I don't find anything cross in this other than the fact that there is no form. But that matters less. A great poem this.
