CHOCOLATE OF DESTITUTE
A Poem by
JENY
A poem written for competition
Whose theme is chocolate
I was a baby.
A dead toy for poverty
Chocolate was a luxury
One meal a day, I was in heaven
Sweet chocolate a dream
Never watered my mouth
As I hadn’t any taste to remember
My tongue was calm.
Only memories of tastes
Make your mouth water
It was only yesterday
My mouth began to water
I ate a morsel of brown
Chocolate that fell down
From the little hands
As little as mine
I tasted it, longed for more
For days on end
All that was brown watered my mouth.
Always jealous of those little hands
As water filled my mouth
Despair filled my eyes
A brown colored despair
Embellished with cherry, in pantries
Laughed at me and my destitute

Poem is very good. The contentment of less can be felt with the feeling of disappointment. A powerful poem. Made my mind think about the meaning in your words. A outstanding poem.
