The one that got away.

The one that got away.

A Story by jamykinns

It was storming, a dark afternoon. There was no sky to see only darkness ahead. I could hear the rain bouncing off my car windows as I drove cautious down a long dirt road. The warmth in the wind distracted my mind from thinking of you for only a moment. This dirt road takes me back to the days we spent driving around for no reason other then wanting to feel your hand grasping mine. Suddenly I feel a tear run down my cheek, or is that just a splash of rain hitting me? I stop the car to get out at a place we often seeked. I wonder if your thinking of those days too. The last night I saw you, you were whipping mascara off my face and telling me you couldn't wait til you could see me again. That was the last time I had seen you. 6 years later I stand in the rain on a dirt road wondering where you are today...

I'm slightly puzzled about the last line. Did you mean 'where' you are today?

Yes that is. I fixed it. Thank you for saying I hadn't noticed.
