My Diary Dear

My Diary Dear

A Poem by Kathleen Burlas

Late at night I stay awake
Sit in my bed with lights on
I breath and take a pen
Then open my diary dear

I'm amazed as I flip each page
Didn't know how much it costs
Looking at those words I wrote
I realized that it's been tough

My feelings I lay them here
Write them inside my dear diary
I tell her all my secrets and stuffs
No little lies nor pretensions

She knows when I'm sad
And she knows when I'm gay
I tell her my deepest feelings
And she's open for me to trust

Guess it's always good
Having a diary dear with me
Entrusting her my secrets
Makes me feel happy and light
