Feelings UnsaidA Poem by Kathleen BurlasIn this silent room I chase those little daydreams in my head With the dark musty breeze I hear voices say your name Pushing me to speak and burst these feelings within But I’m no beauty of Aphrodite nor a Venus in such disguise So in the shadows I lay my love and let it stay in silent secrecy From dawn till dusk I keep these feelings all unsaid Bury them deep inside like a hidden treasure in my chest Under the moonlight I gaze and search for my lucky star In my shell I sigh and unlit the memories of my horrid self These crumpled pieces of love I pick them rigidly in the dark And as the candle burns light is shrinking in my eyes My valor’s dwindling down having me startled and petrified Here on my bended knees I sing this sweet adoration To tie these invisible strings of love to my one and only Adonis dear -Kathleen L.
