patience

patience

A Poem by smear
"

ashes fall from her cigarette into my hands and over my clothes as i look, from down on my knees

"

ashes fall from her cigarette
into my hands
and over my clothes
as i look, from down on my knees

her thoughts are slow
just as the clicks of her heels,
upon the ground she walks

each night ive waited for her
to tell me what she needs
and each night she takes the time
to let me wait, for what i receive

i need her time
her consideration
just as she needs my calm,
my patience

i breathe in the smoke
as she breaths out
with each sip of her wine
i swallow, as she eyes me down

i could stay on my knees for hours
watching her take me in
but she would not do that
for both my sake, and her grin

late hours like these, we save for sleep
when she lets the shield falter,
and i can be let in.
i feel like a vampire,
awaiting at her door

in some ways i am,
for her blood, i adore
with each new moon i kiss her thighs
and ashes, fall to my clothes
