Introduction of new characters

Dominic Lucelli was the head of a very large Italian family. What he wanted, he received. He and his wife resided in a large estate on the top of a hill in Florence, Italy. Theirs was a traditional family with customs dating back generations. His wife and daughters managed the estate while he and his sons managed the family businesses. Although he was mostly a figure head these days where the family business was concerned, he was still highly respected. He was a generous man with a reputation of being fair and kind to those that respected him.

“Ciao! Si tratta di Dominic. Come vanno le cose lì?” his voice was well received on the other end of the phone.

“Molto bene vecchio amico. Lei è appena arrivato in California. Do you mind if we speak English, my old friend? My Italian is a bit rusty. She has just arrived in California on her way to her Mother’s house.”

“Ah. Very fine. Has she seen you? I do not want her to suffer any further….how you say…fear.”

“Yes, she and I had a brief encounter at the coffee shop. She did not recognize me. I am certain. Have no fear, my friend, she is in good hands. I will be sure no injury comes to her.”

Dominic’s voice was solemn in response.

“Ah, yes, my old friend. I trust that she is in good hands now. We must be sure he does not find her. I am not happy with the actions of my son just now. He is there in California, I hear from my contacts?”

“Yes, I have heard from them as well. He is staying at the apartment for the time being. Please rest well. I have many eyes and ears watching him and listening for any signs of ill intent. I will be in touch soon.”

“Ben presto, sì. Molto presto. arrivederci.”

“Molto presto. Arrivederci.”
