grieving the loss of a friend...

 

 

 

Come thou near oh Knight this night
bear thy gifts of solace for sorrow
mortal borrow cold with might
let not a shatter steal the morrow

Come thou near oh Knight to me
steadfast truth and comfort bring
let not the peregrin flight be free
a presence this mine heart shall sting

Come thou near oh Knight 'fore dawn
metallic retile these fears mine shake
warmth of heart thy vision shall spawn
come thou now near that this heart not break

Taking a medieval tone gives the gesture of grieving a hauntingly lengthier span of memory, as if one were mourning a big chunk of time re the human condition.

Particularly resonant are the lines "let not a shatter steal the morrow."

I feel it is a loss that is justified, but yet left with a deep sorrow with no answers. I feeling of abandonment but yet no one to voice your bereavement to. I feel the pain and the unanswered question.. .WHY!?!? The loss and cost is too great to bare, but no one cares!?!?
