For Amanda

A Poem by SM Davis
"

Suicide is painful both for them who took the life and for those left behind to remember them. However, in the end, we must respect the choice made by the one we love(d).

"

There is no reason to the rhyme, nor will there ever be
the life he lived differs far from what he allowed you to see
A lifetime strange yet powerfully filled
inside the last moment of the life now stilled

Remember not now the breath breathed as his last
rather farther still reach to his life’s recent past
the smiles were real and the moments not fleeting
the moment that your two became one heart beating

Hold on to the love – don’t remember the pain
don’t try to make sense of the choice that he made
Your life and your breath are both precious and bold
I will tell you these words ‘til you can hear what your told

Hope, just like love, are behind for the living
being held out in love and are yours for the giving
when you are ready to reach out on your own
seeds of love filled with strength are here being sewn

Afterall, isn't that the ultimate test of that love so strongly professed?

Those words are so powerful and deeply, profoundly true.

What feels so achingly painful is filled with a sense of hope and peace. You do the remarkable... take a hurtful loss and find a way to share the beauty in what was and in what lies ahead. So well done...
