A Lesson in Dance

A Lesson in Dance

A Poem by SM Davis

Listen to the music
let it sink into your soul
every word and note...diffuse it
be the song, assume the role.

Watch the dancers as they prepare...
not a word will they ever speak
a confidence owned you can't help but stare
watching them... anticipations peak.

First note of music wafting in air
her gown lilts subtly as he draws her in
floating on clouds no waltz compare
the two are one poetic dance begin.

As they dance, watch eyes and hands
no truer love formed can there ever be...
she floats on air and she understands
while dancing with him she's eternally free.

Her body moves with his and her eyes shine bright
to watch them dance they're truly in love
as she sways and swoons and her steps are just right
you're not watching a dance but a gift from above.

As the music begins to slow down in tune
so do our lovers as each note guides their feet
slowing in pace like sweet roses in bloom
the romance comes to an end ... until music repeat.

Author's Note

SM Davis
This is somewhat of a metaphor...Doing a collaborative project with a writing partner is much like champion dancers.... there comes a time when one move is anticipated by the other before that move is made. In order for the collaboration to work, you both have to feel the pulse of the other writer...much like the dancers

The dance of love is the most graceful of all... brilliant use of metaphores to describe the special realtionship between two souls

as the music begins to slow down in tune
so do our lovers as each note guides their feet
slowing in pace like sweet roses in bloom
the romance comes to an end ... until music repeat.

Love this last stanza for it is true when love pass on another will come along.

I like what you have written here
this is what grew from inspiration
of you wonderful soul.
_______________________________________________

Every time, we look upon their souls
We hear the silence
Of whispering voices
The pen rises, resting
Upon the archway of their hands
The doorway of hearts
Looking into each others eyes

Listening to what they see
Blood flows
The words of two souls
Sharing, testifying
The love for each other

The first movement
Arm rests on the sensuality
The likeness of your souls
Your bodies' move
With the warmth
Of each others hands

The empty space that separates you
Is the thought of words wanting to flow
Onto the paper of minds
The dance floor of your souls
Serenading a hidden love
The poet, the poetess, you are
Embracing a love of words
While they flow with passion
And desire
To be with each other
Physically holding onto each other
In the silence of a poets mind

Waiting to see what happens next

This is absolutely wonderful! Truly inspiring and a teastament to great flow and rhyme! Wonderfully done! the only thing I would suggest is some comma's to make it easier to understand on some lines so basically the words and flow are perfect but the grammar and punctuation could use some some attention....

Wonderfully Done!
