Darkness

Short poem about the lost of innocence because of how the world is cruel.

There is darkness in your heart; there is darkness in mine,

When I didn’t know I was just fine.

But now that I do it keeps creeping further into my soul,

Making sure its presence is known.

It changes who I am inside,

Making my judgement go blind.

I can’t explain what is going on,

But I know my innocence is gone.

And I will never be who I once was,

Cause that is what the darkness does.

Makes you show a side you never knew,

Making you do things you wish you wouldn't do.

Once you are there, you can't back,

Stealing the innocence you once had.

Seeing the cruelty of this world we live in,

Knowing you will never be the same again.
