Baby Sister,

Baby Sister,

A Poem by smashley
"

I was so caught up in growing up I never thought about my role as a big sister and the impact it would make on my baby sister. I love you little sister.

"
Baby sister,

I see so much of me in you,
Honestly is scares me to death.
Your turning out so beautiful,
Your taking away all the boys' breath.

Just don't grow to fast,
There is always plenty of time.
You only get one childhood,
I wish I would have cherished mine.

I blazed this trail up a cliff,
I am so thankful you didn't follow.
I wished to be a great big sister,
Now a spot in my heart is hollow.

I am sorry for not doing job,
You now enter your teenage years blind.
I just got to caught up in growing up,
Please forgive me for leaving you behind.

Mom told you not turn out like me,
Good thing you listened to her.
You living a life like me,
Is not one for you I'd prefer.

But now for you little one,
I see my life must change.
Everything will be different,
Yes, at first it might be strange.

I have been through a lot,
And could teach you some things.
Baby sister I will never steer you wrong,
You know there is always a spot for you underneath my wing.
