Lovely Beast

Lovely Beast

A Poem by UnderTheDeadPoetTree
"

I remember walking with you

"
Leaves crunch beneath our feet, we walk hand in hand, a four legged beast,
Rare and perfect and full of teeth, that bite and tear,
So that we may stitch from one another, one being,
Mind and heart laid bare, a jigsaw of sharp edges, now rounded and fair.

Two headed, four eyed, experiencing twice the turnings of tides,
The leaves now yellow, which once were green,
Fish bide time, beneath frozen streams,
And ponds which glisten on crisp mornings.

This beast, hair ruffled by a kissing breeze,
Moves slowly beneath the wilting trees, which bend and offer pleas,
And thanks to the quiet whisperings,
Of Nature's promise to paint the forest in spring.

The beautiful beast continues its path,
Through life and leaves, it loves and laughs,
Never straying, though far and wide it roams
Keeping close to what matters,
For within its hands lay home.
