The River Lethe Runs HeartwardA Poem by UnderTheDeadPoetTreeI suppose this poem is about how walking a path once too often can sometimes lead to getting lost in something once familiar.
Never before have I wanted to do nothing more,
Than sit here and listen to rain pour, In rivulets and rivers down the window panes, Soundtrack to the soft toned imaginings rowing through my brain, Of what has come and what will go. This raft I stowed you on flows heartward. Safe from the ragged rocks and on to harbour but Twice a day, this tide turns. Ebb and flow, to and fro. Watch yourself, keep hands and feet, Safe inside my memory, Safe from the raging river Lethe. © 2016 UnderTheDeadPoetTree |
