First love #2

First love #2

A Poem by rach
"

This poems a mess like the relationship I've tried to define.

"
We stared at the stars,
fingers entwined,
whispered conversations,
over paper bagged red wine.

I asked you to be gentle,
my heart was still whole,
you told me you loved me,
how was I to know.

You taught me how to dream,
like I had never dreamt before.
Then you turned them into nightmares,
when she started knocking at your door.

You taught me all about
the ugliness in the world.
Then you showed me,
how to see it in myself.

I knew your biggest secrets,
and that was mine.
I bled from the inside out,
while pretending everything was fine.

By stealing all my joy,
you filled me with despair.
I never understood,
how little you could care.

Did you mean to give me strength?
The ability to run.
I was never so happy,
as to when it hit me we were done.

"The ability to run."
Oh, dear, he made you cry now so you can laugh forever.

the laughter is always worth the pain. Thanks.
A depth of pain`s well pondered into the whole write but the one write that`s conquered the true spirits`s ...

You taught me all about
the ugliness in the world.
Then you showed me,
how to see it in myself.

Love`s so "capricious" .. and your this poem`s well fitted to my creative group "The Capricious Love". Ah! So much pain you`ve reflected through your words. Nicely plotted!

Thank you, I agree love can be so inconsistent at times, its the not knowing that makes it exciting.
Sounds like a romance that was and now isn't so bring in the clowns and beat the drum slowly. Love. That word and what we associate with it has brought mankind more, much more pain and suffering than it has happiness and joy. Good luck with the remainder of your life.

I agree, but I feel like the suffering is worth those moments of joy.

That is a good way of looking at it, rach.
