Anesthetized

Anesthetized

A Poem by Shayna
"

This poem is not about feelings, but about the action of feeling itself.

"

Does the ocean still make you feel small?

Or do you feel big?

Does the ocean make you feel?

As the wind tousles your hair?

Are you numb?

Will you see?

You’re searching for something,

Blindfolded, walking backward down the line.

Open your eyes,

Maybe you’ll see.

Pull your hair back.

Take a breath.

Feel the sand under your feet

And between your toes.

Smell the air,

Taste the salt.

Ask yourself…

Does anything make you feel?
