Different Yet the SameA Poem by AbbieOkay, I wrote this for english class because we are reading a book called The Outsiders. this is told by one of the greaser's point of view. I know it isn't my best work, but oh well! :)Why does
it matter
If you
live on the
West
side or the East?
Why does
it matter
If you
have money
And I
don’t?
Why does
it matter
If you
are a Soc
Or a
Greaser?
Who are
you to
tell me
what I am
Or what
I’m not?
We both have
Some
problems
And many
at that.
We both
are
Tough as
nails
And love
to fight.
We both
have friends
Who we trust
more
than anything.
The more
I think
Long and
hard about it
The more
I realize…
You
might be a Soc
High and
mighty
Living
with money to blow.
I might
be a Greaser
Dangerous
and feared
Struggling
to survive.
Even
though we live
On
opposite sides of the town
And seem
so different,
I think
we may be
More
alike than
We could
ever imagine. © 2012 AbbieAuthor's Note
