The End Is Near

Sitting in my world

As the walls close in

The absence I feel inside

I hope the end is near

Why must things be this way

Why must I feel the same

Why must things be this way

Why must I feel the shame

As a child I'd cry

From the loneliness inside

As a man I cry

From the emptiness I hide

Why must things be this way

Why must I feel the same

Why must things be this way

Why must I feel the shame

I hate the numbness and the haze

That swallows all my days

Waiting here still

Just longing to feel

Why must things be this way

Why must I feel the same

Why must things be this way

Why must I feel the shame

The time has changed

Nothing has changed

All alone like I began

God please let the end be near
