My Dearest Friend

When I was 17 my best friend committed suicide and I carried that with me for well over the next 10 years of my life. A couple of years ago I wrote these "lyrics" to help put that pain behind me.

It hurts again today

I just wish it would go away

Pain's the only thing I feel

Only thing that seems real

After all these years

The pain just won't fade

Try to forget the past

But I remember everything

You were the one that was always there

I hate what I have become

I would gladly trade

All that I have made
