Pendulum

Pendulum

A Poem by Sloane Holt

Swinging

Embracing extremes

Swinging

Ever-changing it seems

Swinging

Some fast, others slow

Swinging

For a purpose we don't know

Swinging

Keeping time til death

Resting

For there's no time left.

I really admire the image you convey of the swinging pendelum and also, your rhyming scheme. In our lives, we have no choice but to keep time until our last breath. I also love how when you wrote when the pendelum was resting, it was at death as when it was swinging, one would still be living and have a beating heart.

I found this to remind me of A blinded lady of Justice, should one assume an underline theme?

I've actually never even heard of A Blinded Lady of Justice
