Come Stay AwhileA Poem by Jordan A. WilsonI could do it all… I could play that role, be that guy… I could work real hard and save my money, Take you to Jeff Ruby’s every now and then, Go home, Look at myself in the mirror, Pat myself on the back and say with a smile, “Job well done, she took the bait.” I could put on airs… But I think I’d rather stay on the ground Seeing as people can’t fly. Your body is a wonderland, but Your heart and soul is what Fuels, cleans, operates, and maintains the rides. Any bum, liar, psycho, con artist, loser, what-have-you With a live fast, die hard persona can Start with a bang and leave you feeling stuck. I’d rather stand and face you properly, Build off something real. Sit all day and do nothing, Just be in each others’ presence. If you could handle that, handle me At my dullest…then… The world would be yours. I would do it all… I would play that role, be that guy…© 2012 Jordan A. WilsonReviews
