Ooh, You My Sweetheart

Ooh, You My Sweetheart

A Poem by Jordan A. Wilson

You need to just chill a bit

I cherish you, my filament

Your beauty is the plug that sparks your light

So yes I called you filament

I have words for the birds

I have words that come in herds

But I also have words just for you

And with your permission I’d like to see how they do

This is nicely done, and a sweet poem. I felt like I could understand, and relate, to what you were telling me. I do have one suggestion- I might change the very first line. "You need to just chill a bit" doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the style- beautiful and classic- of your poem, because it's a bit more contemporary. Nice job nonetheless :)
