Sirens

Sirens

A Poem by Kate
"

The song ofthe Sirens.

"

White sails scrape the horizon,

Voices carry over the air,

Quick laugh, now, ladies laugh,

You don’t want to miss your chance.

Smother them in song,

Let them feel the rush of beauty,

Call to them, invite them close,

Come to me, now, come to us.

And as their hands reach for you,

Grasp on and pull them close,

Tell them everything they dream of,

You’re perfect, worthy of love.

Maybe this time they won’t crumble,

Collapse into a pile of bones,

If we’re careful enough they will stay,

Mend our hearts and lonely thoughts.

For longing women of such grace,

We suffer a deadly touch,

Our hearts weep for just one man,

Please save us, save us!
