Keeping quite quiet.
Somehow everyone slept through the riot. keeping quite still they had all given up. Not willing to lose a fight. Something told them to stop. So in the darkness they were lost. The wayward children were wind tossed in the gale. Old enough to die for something. Not old enough to choose why, why they would fight. So slowly they died. The wayward children lost the spark. They never got a taste of life, they never met the lark. with her starry wings. No, no they left their things. Old enough to die for something. But not old enough to choose why. And so the brave died. And so the cowardly vied For what was left in the poisonous gale. And the windswept children fell to ruin. So when the grew. They knew not why. But no one though to tell them. The lark was lost as well. Her starry wings bound in what seemed a hateful spell. and with her the windswept children fell. They never knew how to fly. Old enough to choose to die for something. but still, not old enough to choose why. And the red took the sky. As the blue ran to the lark. But red always fades. And darkness came to reign. So through the malice and chaos. The day faded to night. One day we each must Fall to one we trust. And walk a path on a faithless night With not a comfort in sight. Untill we decide Why, yet still they block you. Oh windswept children. May the night hide you but not blind you. For your starless night shall be long and cold. Will you slay the lark. Or set her free. Untill you decide Why. © 2013 SlightlyOddReviews
