I know I'm home

Another piece I wrote a long time ago. It's kind of a song which has to do about my home area.

The best place to live - is in the flatlands of Texas - When all you see is green and gold - with the bluest skies of all - and when it rains it's a ball

The fields are white as snow - and the animals graze the land - while the farmers do their job - rising before dawn and don't make it home until dusk

There's nothing better than home cooking - and the best part of the day is dinner - mama cooked our favorite meal - and before we eat we bless the food

Nothing is sexier than a pickup truck - playing some good old country music - while you drive down the back roads - and watch the bright shining stars

CHORUS:

When the sun rises and the birds began to sing - we welcome nature and all it brings - and when the sun sets over the horizon and the music begins to play - I know I'm home

Just remember I wrote this a while ago so it may not even make sense. You can laugh at it too because I'm laughing at some of it as well.

I thought it was pretty cool and I get it. Though I am in South Texas, we all are from somewhere and it is those things that remind us of home that are so much fun remembering.
