Pain Taker

Pain Taker

A Poem by Jessie White

I’ve done things you couldn’t imagine.
Gone days without food, weeks without sleep.
I never found anything I can’t do.
Worked my fingers raw, till my hands bleed.
Then turned around to do it all again.

Your doctors and your shrinks,
They couldn’t control me.
Hell, they couldn’t even define me.

All life is a game.
Do you want to play?
It doesn’t really matter.
I’ll hear you anyway.

Hear you and hunt you
And then I’ll take away your sins,
Your joy and all the pain.
