Hardened Soul

Hardened Soul

A Poem by slfisher89

Butterflies don't only exist in nature
In the refrigerator,
they're tucked away
Chilled-shelled caterpillar
Covered in water
Surround by heat
Cocoon
Liquid to solid
Clear to white
Metamorphosis
Boiled egg am I

This one's quiet clever in many ways.
Sometimes one comes away from a situation and finds oneself... Just a little bit changed from the previous version... Ay?

Enjoyed the read.

within that boiled egg, lies my soul...
I don't know if it is clear, white or black as a deep licorice night.

Surely to like this piece, lots.

A hard boiled egg certainly doesn't have a soft centre. This little piece catches the imagination. I found it an intriguing read.
