A little longer

A Poem by slfisher89

Tick tock
Tock tick
Plays the beat
Of
Anticipation
My muscles
Ebb
and
Flow
The clock cheers me on
til
The tide comes in
and
I'm home again

It's like being pulled into consciousness from a bad dream. Nice. Reminds me of the everyday grind of the working stiff; busting his butt all day just waiting for the whistle to blow so he can go home. I've been that guy. I enjoyed the read.

'home'

Now that is where the heart is, and the countdown of the clock brings you nearer to the place where you belong. You took me back to my childhood home and I was thankful for that.

reminds me of a Moody Blues' song...

"and the tide rushes in and washes my castles away"
I feel this poem...and we all need to be home again after a journey of waiting.
