Muted Intensity

Muted Intensity

A Poem by slfisher89

Morning rises
Greets the patrons
Coffee grinds silently
Match drags slowly
On
The
Box
Smoke swirls smoothly
Off
The
Cigarette
Metal chills his back
Thoughts bounce
in
his
mind
"No going back now"

I love the scene.....but sadly does this mean he's smoking again after trying to quit? I hope I didn't misread it.

The speaker committed a horrible crime; he ponders on his current situation . there's no going back.
