Conundrum

Conundrum

A Poem by slfisher89

The illusion of time
Question or statement?
Break down
Combine
Reform
First,
Break down
An Illusion
a thing wrongly perceived
or interpreted by the senses.
Time
the indefinite continued
progress of existence
Next combine
Indefinite progress of existence;
Wrongly interpreted or perceived by the senses
The illusion of time
Question or statement
Memories are the result of time;
My progress of existence
The scaffold my knowledge is based
But if it is wrongly perceived or interpreted
What of my knowledge of this world?
Then reform
Illusion of time
Question or statement
Illusion
Wrongly perceived or interpreted by the senses
The senses
Sight
Hearing
Smell
Touch
Taste
Take the outside
Transfer it into the mind
Time passes; existence progresses
Memories cemented
But time can be wrongly perceived
Or interpreted
Illusion of time
Question or statement
Perhaps, both

Great work. The imagery is quite vivid and the message/statement is strong.

The idea of time or the illusion of time(since it is in a way a social construct) is something we all ponder on at some stage in our lives. It's something I meditate on weekly. Why are we here? How long do we have left? What comes next?

Great work.
