Widow's WalkA Poem by slfisher89I open my eyes Hear the clock ticking Thoughts trickle into my mind like light rain drops. Could it had been your presence soothe mine, only days ago? No, that can not be It must have been months or years. The universe has called you away You have promise to return I pray you will, mon coeur. I will cultivate a garden; thick and lush shielding my soul against all-consuming fear and worry. If the universe grants you salvation; Your bride will be waiting. I pledge my life to you. For now I will take my place on the widow’s walk; I will wait, wonder, and pray. For the winds to bring your ship in; The rain stops. I close my eyes and say a silent prayer “Grant him mercy and return my sweet prince back to me.” © 2016 slfisher89Reviews
