Death: Come What May

Death: Come What May

A Poem by slfisher89

We embraced

scared, alone

Darkness overtook us.

Transcended"

our spirits intertwined.

Then, serparted

thoughts

faded

night

into.

day

links washed away

like sand from a beach.

Awaken, surround by brothers and sisters.

Weak and helpless;

my mother comforts me.

I nuzzle her tail.

Time passes

I grow,

learn.

Happy with this life

Have I ever had another?

I don’t recall.

One day I see you across the forest.

I once knew you;

loved you deeply.

Time has been erased;

you can not be placed

Winter comes

My first winter, but

with each mark I make;

I feel a story underneath.

But, can not find the cover

in my mind

I see you lying in the snow.

You like me;

grasping for an unknown past.

I lay my head upon yours

It becomes clear; we were here once before

but, darkness overtook us.

A light bought us back, transformed.

our love remained

someday we shall make a group of our own

and cherish the present

we were given

But til then

we shall remain here

and recount a different time;

different place.

A dear tear remains...

this touches deeply - as it should.
